Velvet Carrying Case. Material: leather, paper. (a) Notebook. Size: 3" W. x 4 3/4" L. Description: tan alligator leather cover stamped: "Compliments of M. Nathan & Co."; contents: autographs dated 1880s, many from her school friends at Carleton College. [c] Notebook. Size: 3 3/4" W. x 6" L. Description: white linen cover with "Recipes" embroidered across front; contents: handwritten recipes and menus she served including wedding parties for Jennie Aughenbaugh and Daisy Aughenbaugh, and a dinner for Mrs. Percy Ward (Daisy Ward). (d) Case. Size: 4 1/2" W. x 8" L. Description: olive green velvet hand-stitched carrying case containing the two (a, c) notebooks; embroidered on cover: "Photographs"; embroidered on inside pocket: "E"; green grosgrain ribbon closure ties.
