Description

(a) Bayonet. Material: metal. Size: 21" L. (18" L. blade). Description: metal triangular bayonet - mounting bracket on one end. (b) Scabbard. Material: leather and metal. Size: 2 1/2" W. x 19" L. Description: brown leather - triangular shaped to fit bayonet - crescent shaped strap on one end for belt attachment - two copper rivets hold strap to scabbard - 3 1/3" L. brass tip at point of scabbard - 1/2" W. acorn shaped finial at tip.

History: Cleaned and researched by Gary Taylor 11/9/1993- Model-Bayonet w/Scabbard, Will fit - Model 1861 & 1863 U.S. Rifle- Musket. Place of Mfg.- U.S. Date of Mfg.-Ca. 1862 Approximate Retail Value $50 in 1957.
