Civil War Military Cartridge Box and Scabbard. Material: leather and metal. (a) Belt. Size: 1 1/2" W. x 40 1/2" L. with attached scabbard 1 1/4" W. x 11 1/2" L. Description: brown leather belt with oval metal buckle - hand scratched on reverse side: "F M". (b) Bayonet fragment. Size: 3/4" W. x 4 1/4" L. Description: metal bayonet end piece of scabbard; leather cap pouch, lined with textile and with metal closure button (3 1/2" W. x 3" L.) attached to belt; stamped on scabbard: "Wilkinson and Cummings, Makers, Springfield, Mass."
