PLACEHOLDER Black Wool Cape. This cape was worn by Mrs. Bettie Hubbard when she was a very young girl. Mrs. Hubbard resided in Janesville for many years. Her daughter May and May's husband, Elmer Dills taught school in Janesville, MN, later moving to Minneapolis. There Mrs. Dills was Superintendent of Hennepin County Schools for twenty years until her retirement. Mr. Dillis practiced law until his retirement. After Mrs. Dills death, Mr. Dills gave this cape to Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Savage, who admired it for it's historical value. Because the cape is so very old and so well preserved, Mrs. Savage thought it appropriate that it be given to the Waseca County Historical Society, where it will be further preserved for the Hubbard, Dills and Savage families as well as future generations to see and enjoy. (Museum note: This cape was brought in freshly dry cleaned and is in almost perfect condition.)Lexicon
