Charga-Plate. Material: Metal, Paper. SIze: Plate 2 5/8"x1 1/4"; envelope and card 4 1/4"x6" Description: (a) Metal Charga-Plate embossed "Mrs Walter Atkinson 113 10th Ave S E Waseca Minn A." The plate is unsigned and unused and in (c)the original envelope and attached to (b) the original card. The Charga-Plate was good for use at Dayton's, L.S. Donaldson Co., J.B. Hudson Co., Juster Brothers, Powers, M.L. Rothschild Young-Quinlan Co. and Warner Hardware Co. The card contains instructions for use and additional information. (c) The envelope is addressed to Mrs. Walter Atkinson. Additionally, (d) a postage free postcard is included in the envelope to request more plates and authorize additional users on the account. Issued by "Charga-Plate Stores of Minneapolis, Incorporated".
Appeared to have been received in 1957, since a small calendar card of that year was enclosed in the envelope, but the Atkinson's left Waseca in 1956, after living there for about 10 years. This explains why the card remained unused and must have been issued in 1956, shortly before they moved.Lexicon
