Context

Used by Charlie Spaulding when he shot his hole-in-one at Lakeside Country Club in Waseca on 4 August 1938. It was his primary wood. Note with gift agreement: "Judge Newton C. Young was mother's father. He purchased the Spoon (club) from D.R. Valentine, the long time pro at the Fargo Country Club in 1922. After his death in 1922, my father latched on to it and it became his primary wood, especially when he was in the rough. It was in his later years that he began to use it as a driver. Signed Horace."
