Description

White Ribbed Cotton Child's Coat. Material: textile, shell, metal. Size: 31 1/2" W. (cuff to cuff) x 21" L. Description: white, ribbed cotton, double breasted with 6 shell buttons and one metal hook-eye front closure; narrow 2" W. collar over a wide 7 1/2" W. over cape; white hand stitched embroidery on collar and cuffs.

Context

Worn by one of donor's brothers and sisters. Clara O. Johnson married Gerhardt O. Hatle (donor's parents) in the early 1910s. They had 10 children; Orvin, Clair, Evelyn, Wesley, Herbert, Elaine, Edith, Avis, Rebecca & Ruth.
