Description

IBM Personal Computer System. Material: plastic, metal. Description: tan colored PC used by museum to store collection information. a) Screen: 13 1/2 x 10" x 13" deep. Description: green screen operated by DOS, separate unit which sits on top of (b) PC unit, a box 19 1/2" x 15" x 5" containing one 5 1/4" floppy disc drive. (c) Standard keyboard: 18" x 7" x 1/4".

Context

This computer was purchased by the museum for collection storage in approximately 1988 and was the first attempt at computerized data storage at the museum. It is believed that the purchase was accomplished by the help of a Grants in Aide grant.
