Description

WCH Class Play Program. Material: paper. Size: 6" x 9". The image is a vintage mimeographed program cover for a play titled "Drums of Death" by Howard Reed, featuring an illustration of a person with a drumstick in hand, surrounded by large, leafy foliage, and positioned against a backdrop of abstract architectural shapes; the graphic indicates that it was presented by the Junior Class on Friday, November 19, 1948, with the title and author's name in bold, stylized text at the top. The second image inside the program: a typed document listing the play's cast of characters in order of appearance, with roles such as Celeste, described as an octoroon servant, and Jules, a Haitian, among others. Subsequent pages include class members who under the direction of Vaceles Pappas filled the committee roles supporting the actors; included between acts was entertainment from the girls quartette, boys quartette and a saxophone solo by Ralph Conrad.
