Rodney Searle Gavel and Block from Minnesota State University Board. (a) Block. Material: wood, metal. Size: 3 1/4" W. x 10 1/2" L. x 1 1/2" H. Description: black painted block with a brown walnut surface inlay; indentations for gavel head and hammer to rest; top displays a black plastic rectangular plate resting on a gold metal plate lettered in gold: "Rod Searle, President, Minnesota State University Board, 1981-1991"; four green felt protectors at each bottom corner; bottom tag: "Awards by Hammond..." (b) Gavel. Material: wood. Size: 2 1/2" W. x 7 1/2" L. Description: brown finished tooled and threaded handle screwed into tooled and threaded mallet head.
