World War I Mess Kit. Material: metal. (a) Plate. Size: 6 5/8" W. x 8 1/4" L. x 1 1/2" D. x 9" extension hinged handle; (b) Lid. Size: 6 1/4" W. x 7 7/8" L.; (c ) Spoon-fork tool. Size: 1/78" W. x 6 1/4" L. Description: tin spoon and fork riveted through handles. (d) Knife. Description: tin knife tool stamped "U.S" and "L.F.&C. 1917" and "442 8"; (e). Fork. Size: 1" W. x 7 1/4" L. Description: tin fork tool; stamped "W" over "W" and "917".
