(a) Main body Material: metal. Size: 7 5/16" W. x 13 1/4" L. x 1 " H. Color and description: gray painted tin rectangular base - 50 narrow slots extend across the width of the frame. (b) Pleater. Material: metal. Size: 1 5/8" W. x 5" L. x 3/8" D. Description: gray painted metal - rectangular piece bend into three "pleats" resembling a wide "W" shape.

Context

Sewing. Used with a hot iron to made pleats. Also called a Victorian Plaiting Machine. Used by Mrs. Richard Lau, Janesville, MN dressmaker.
