Belt Powered Feed Mill / Wind Powered Feed Mill. Material: metal. Size: 15" W. x 26" H. Description: four legged metal mill; on front: "No. 2"; on side of leg: "Pat. May 25 1869 & July 10 1870"; on side of leg: "Mf'd by U.S.W.E. & Co. ? Ill."

Context

Feed mill operated by wind power. When the wind blew the wheels turned. Fed by spout from an overhead bin. Used about 1870 on the Schwanke farm in Iosco Township. On loan to Farmamerica as of 2010.
