Description

Wedding Attire Undergarment. Material: textile, pearl. Size: 30" W. x 28 1/2" L. Description: fine white cotton muslin pantalettes with side closure of two 7/16" pearl buttons and a 11 3/4" L. placket. Flat yoke at waist with legs slightly gathered. 7 3/4" W. lace trim on each leg bottom ruffle, 1 1/2" linen lace insert mid-ruffle.

Context

Worn as part of her wedding attire by Blanche Clement, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clement when she was married to B. F. Van Loon on May 7, 1907, in Waseca at her home. It was Mr. Van Loon's 28th birthday. (B.F. stand for Benjamin Franklin.) Said to go with wedding gown 1969.6.2283, but this seems unlikely due to the bulkiness of the undergarment.
