Description

Hodgson Pipe. Material: plastic, wood. Size: 5 3/8" L. 1" H. Description: light brown hardwood bowl and stem - on side of stem: "Bruyere Extra" - black hardened material (lucite or vulcanite) forms part of stem and mouthpiece.

Context

Hodgson Collection. Prior to accessioning, the number 74 was printed in white ink on the bowl. Note from Hodgson's Smoke Rings book: "Joe Kubicek brought this one at Campeigne, France where the armistice was signed at the end of World War I. Joe was there with a group of returned German prisoners he had helped escort from his country back to their devastated home land."
