Description

Hodgson Pipe. Material: wood. Size: 2 1/2" diameter x 2 3/4" H. bowl x 5 1/2" L. Description: wooden bowl and stem - deeply grooved horizontal bands encircle bowl - twelve vent holes drilled down through sides of bowl and intersect vent holes pierced through bowl sides - brown resin removable stem.

Context

Hodgson Collection. Prior to accessioning, the number 318 was printed in white ink on the bowl. Note found in Hodgson's Smoke Rings book: "Favorite pipe of E.P. Nelson. Given to me 2-24-1966 by Phil."
