Hodgson Pipe. Material: ceramic. Size: 2 1/4" L. Description: white ceramic pipe - stem stub extends from side of bowl - written on side of bowl: "87 Eritrea"

Context

Hodgson Collection. Prior to accessioning, the number 87 was printed in white ink on the bowl. Note from Hodgson's Smoke Rings book: "Floyd Daehn found this hand painted China number in Iritrea, the land of Heile-Selassie and the Queen of Sheba. Maybe the Queen's favorite eunuch smoked the great grandfather of this pipe."
