Herter Business Fire. 4" x 2 3/8" black and white photograph of the aftermath of the Herter fire in 1942; the view from the alley behind the store shows caved in walls, burnt timbers, ice and frost covering everything; damage included not only Herter's, but the Johnson Radio Store and the Crystal Cafe.
