Context

Seeder for planting small grain. Bernard Meyman purchased this machine from J. Murphy in 1895 at Adrian, Minnesota. It was used there until 1912 when the family moved to Indian Creek, Missouri, where it was pulled by mules. When Bernard Meyman quit farming he gave the seeder to his son Joe, who took it with him to Owatonna in 1930, where he farmed for one year. In 1931, he moved to a farm three miles west of Waseca where the seeder was used until 1948. It was left in the shed when Joe's son, Louis, bought the farm in 1959.
