Context

Donor's father, John Reuben Jondal owned Jondal Grocery, south of 4th Ave., perhaps on 7th Street in the 1950s. The grocery later was Fitzgerald Grocery. He also owned a building at 109 South State Street, north of the Waseca Music Company, where he ran John's Recreation in the upstairs of that building in the 1930s and 1940s. The pool hall recreation area was at some point moved to the basement of that building, also known as the Weller Building, and he ran that until his retirement sometime in the 1970s. Jondal also worked for a time at the E. F. Johnson Company. John and Thelma Jondal are the parents of the Donor.
