Material: metal. Size: 2 1/4" W. x 6" L. x 3/4" D. Description: steel plate frame - raised edges at top and one side - moveable sliding clamp on other side locks into perforated holes along top edge.

Letterpress composing stick used for sizing printing jobs. Found with articles associated with Frank Goodspeed, James Child and Walter Child. Note: "Type setter's stick probably by Walter Child. Principal printer for James E. Child grandfather of Frank Goodspeed."
