Description

Ice Tongs. Material: metal. Size: 19-1/2" W x 26" L x 3/8" thick. Description: iron handles on one end with tongs on other end; tool used to lift ice blocks from frozen lake water; letters stamped into one tong: "BROW"; pencil marks on one handle: "W" or "M" and some marks that may be numbers or letters.

Context

Found in Hodgson Hall with no accession number label 2/7/2002. Used #3287 which was previously entered into data base on 8/20/91. Assume these tongs match the number in the database. July 2017 found accession number 3287 which are calipers. If these tongs are found at Hodgson Hall their number should be changed to 1.17.47.
