Description

Janesville High School Band Uniform Hat. Material: textile. leather, plastic, metal. Size: 7 1/2" W. x 9 5/8" L. x 6 5/8" H. Description: yellow-gold fabric over hard frame sides - black glossy plastic flat crown - black glossy hatband - gold colored chain link extends from one side around front over hatband - chain attached on each side with gold button stamped with music symbol - brown leather chin strap secured on hatband side - chin strap can be fastened with gold buckle - gold plastic starburst front and center on yellow fabric - brown perforated vinyl lining - white label inside: "Uniforms by Ostwald, Inc., Staten Island, N.Y."

Context

Used by the Janesville High School Band between 1960-1980s. Last worn by Ann Gesner who graduated from JHS in 1982. The band director in 1980 was David Shea.
