A Man on the Move! The Grand Secretary's job is never done. GS Horace W. Tyler used this travel trunk to visit many of the Lodges in Washington, as indicated by the travel stickers still on it. Tyler was Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Washington from 1906-1944, and only the second in Washington Grand Lodge's existence. He likely used this trunk up until around 1926, the year when one of the latest travel stickers was placed on it. Special shoutouts are due to the Lodges whose towns are represented on the visible travel stickers: Mark P. Waterman Lodge No. 177 (Burton, located on Vashon Island), as well as Steadfast Lodge #216 (Free & Accepted Masons of Washington) , William H. Upton Naval and Military Lodge, No. 206, and Bremerton Lodge No. 117 (all three located in Bremerton). And an additional shoutout to Horace W. Tyler Lodge No. 290 (University Place), whose namesake is the subject of this post!
