"Eternal Vigilance"
The Masonic institution has for its great aim the making of its votaries wiser, better, and consequently, happier. To be wise, ignorance must be routed. To be good, evil bust be overthrown. To be happy, sorrow must be overcome. But it is not sufficient to be wise, good and happy. Having attained to that state, we must remember that our duty is to be better than ourselves. We must subdue the appetites and assions b the moral sense and reason. To accomplish this, the eye of watchfulness must never slumber or sleep. It must be eternally vigilant."Collection
