Originally made to clean the inside of tobacco pipes, these cleaner were adopted for hair curling as they were soft and bendable. Mostly they were used at night. The hair was would round the cleaner and the ends turned over to prevent it unravelling. They were quite uncomfortable to sleep on!Category
