Description

Metal cylinder with three levels (other models have one or two levels). This model has a dispensing tap at the bottom and a flow system at the top. The makers plaques are brass.

Context

Arthur C Wells, an engineer, started making unbreakable oil lamps in 1880. Up until 1897 he further developed oil lamps that were cheaper to use than gas or electric. In 1913 the company advertises the first waste oil filter. These were continually advertised until 1960.
