Description

Five glass medical measuring beakers, engraved with measurements for fluid ounces and drams.

Context

Two of the beakers are engraved with 'Grad E II R 221'. This a CE mark indicating that the product complies with EU safety, health and environmental requirements. A '221 Crown stamp' was used from 1879 - 2006, and was allocated to different weights and measures authorities as follows: Allocated to the local weights and measures authority in Bewdley from 1879 to 1889. Allocated to the local weights and measures authority in Worcester County from 1904 to 1914. Allocated to the local weights and measures authority in East Ham from 1915 to 1965. Allocated to the local weights and measures authority in Newham from 1965 to 2006.
