Description

A grinding machine used to crush different substances.

Context

The Bone Mill is made by John Harper & Co. in the Midlands, who had a number of foundries producing all kinds of articles for household, commercial, manufacturing uses. They registered “Beatrice” as a trademark in 1899 and under that name they made meat grinders, coffee mills, and probably other small household items during the period before WW1. The brand was also used on oil lamps, heaters and stoves. The company went public in 1930. Sometime after that, maybe as late as the 1950’s, the company split into two major divisions: “finishing” and “foundries”. The “finishing division” was split between Beatrice and Harper’s Housewares.
