Description

Small wooden circular box. Possibly 19th century and made of fruitwood.

Context

Pill rounders were used by chemists. After the pill was cut from the pill machine it was placed under or in the pill rounder, and by moving it in a circular motion it became round. It was then placed in a pill silverer for coating. (See also item Pill silverer catalogue number 2025.1.583 and Bottle of silvered pills catalogue number 2025.1.585).
