Description

Short tapered wooden pole with metal tip and removable rotating handle. There are two small mirror discs on each side of the centre of the handle.

Context

The metal tip of the lure was pushed into the ground and the wings were rotated by means of a thread, while the user hid in the nearby bushes. The small reflecting discs would attract the larks, which were then trapped by a net or shot. Probably French 19th century.
