Description

Rocker style crimping iron containing two pieces: (i) a rectangular hollow base with space for a heated stone/brick and a brass corrugated surface; (ii) a curved corrugated brass rectangle with a handle. The concave corrugations on one surface fit into the convex corrugations on the other surface. The hair is placed between the two surfaces. Inscription reads: Geneva Hand Fluted Improved. On the handle: Geneva. ILL [Illinois]. On the base Pat'd August, 01. 1866.
