Description

Wooden whistle type instrument with leather thong.

Context

Can be used to learn the variety of calls made by birds. The howl of the male may be heard all year, but it’s heard more often in the winter season - especially January and February. An old premonition about the weather says: “If the owl howls in December, it’ll be a hard winter!”
