Description

Heavy ceramic hot water-bottle with a floral leaf design round the stopper. There is also a knob for holding the bottle so as not to burn your hands.

Context

Although made of 'ceramic' it was called stoneware. A bottle may have been wrapped in a blanket or specially knitted cover to prevent getting burned. This bottle was probably made c 1900.
