Description

Small scissor-like hooks that prevent trousers becoming tangled in the chain of a bicycle, with a tin to keep them in.

Context

Made by Herbert Terry & Sons, Redditch, England c 1900. Herbert Terry established a business in 1855 making fishing tackle. He began specialising in spring and presswork and by 1933 had perfected the three springs required for the balance of an Anglepoise Lamp which had been developed by George Carwardine in 1932. The Terry family are still involved in the management team for the lamp.
