Description

Copper lamp/heater, with metal gauze cylinder and hook for suspending in the air or hanging from a bar. The fuel reservoir is kept in place with three clips. The Desmo logo of a flying car is on the lamp. The fuel would have been paraffin.

Context

Desmo, who were from Brierley Hill, Staffordshire are very much associated with car accessories. In the period 1900-1940s they were makers of windscreens and also developed wing mirrors that if knocked would spring back into place.
