The brewery began as the Swan Brewery (originally Swan's Nest Brewery) in Paradise Gardens, Oxford, in 1646.
Acquisition by William Hall:
In 1795, William Hall acquired the Swan Brewery, which then became known as Hall's Oxford Brewery.
Growth and Acquisitions:
Hall's Oxford Brewery grew, acquiring other local breweries, including those in Wallingford and Bicester.
Company Formation:
The company was registered as a limited company in December 1896 to take over the business of Messrs. Hall and Co.
Concentration of Brewing:
By April 1899, all brewing was concentrated at the City Brewery.
Acquisition by Allsopp & Sons:
