Context

Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that originated in Germany more than 200 years ago by a German Doctor Samuel Hahneman. Homeopathic medicines involve such minute doses that side-effects are avoided and they can be taken safely. They are non-addictive and can be taken alongside orthodox drugs if necessary. The box contains numerous phials for dispensing homeopathic tinctures. The label inside the lid indicates that the box was purchased in Sydney Australia from Martin & Fisher Homeopathic Chemist. In 1877 Henry Allan Fisher, a 28 year-old chemist, became a partner in a firm in Sydney. He had various partners and engaged in various enterprise and was declared bankrupt by 1889. Fortunately Henry Allan Fisher's product 'Kola Nut Tonic' was successful and in 1891 the company Fisher & Co was still trading from Hunter Street. Fisher remained active till his death in 1903.
