Description

Heavy steel lamp with strong handle on top of the rectangular box. An on/off switch above the lens and a clip to open the top of the lap which reveals the terminals. The battery is a Nickel Cadmium Alkaline Battery. Next to the terminals it states 'Do Not Use Acid'. It also has the NH10A and nearby a cross - which could represent the cross on the Swedish flag.

Context

Originally a Swedish Company that traded in the UK as Nife, they manufactured a complete range of portable lamps, including the Miner's Safety Lamp. During WWII the company expanded into lighting for the aircraft industry and eventually designed lighting equipment for emergency cockpit and service areas.
