Description

Round tin of containing saddle soap. The Directions on the bottom of the tin state: Use damp sponge Rubbing in soap thoroughly when quite dry Polish with a soft cloth.

Context

The company Probert's was in existence from 1877 to 1955, under the auspices of Beddow and Sons. Both companies specialised in blacking (for grates), boot polish and saddle soap. The Probert's brand still exists to day - the company owned by Kiwi.
