Metal lamp, with circular lens, rear hand grip and circular base to stand firm on the ground or on something. The lens has two clips to enable removal. There is also access to the body through a small 'door' in the left hand-side of the body. The lamp was lit with a candle. The lamp should have a pair of shutters, to block the light, in front of the lens that swivelled outwards, when not in use. They are no longer extant.Context
