Description

Wooden WW1 battery operated lamp. The battery compartment has a sliding panel and reveals the negative and positive terminals. The lamp will have had a handle - possible a leather thong threaded through the holes on the top of the lamp but it is no longer extant. The large lens is of the 'bullseye' type. The mechanism for switching on and off is on the top of the box. There is more than one setting to control brightness.

Context

The label on front top of the lamp states British "TEC" made.
