Dear Mr. Laird,
About a month ago I visited the Waupun Historical Society Museum while planning the route for a Model T Ford regional tour to be held September 10-13, 2003, based out of West Bend. On Friday, September 12, our group of about 30 Model T Fords will be circling the Horicon Marsh, and arriving in Waupun at approximately 11 a.m. and driving past the sculptures in town, with tentative plans for a picnic lunch at the Fond du Lac County park north of town.
I understand that the normal hours for the museum are on Sundays only, but as tour organizer I was wondering if it would be possible for one of your volunteers to have the museum open that Friday, perhaps 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as our tour will not be arriving as one large group.
I think that your museum would be of interest to my Model T Ford tour participants, especially the history of Clarence Shaler and Shaler Manufacturing, as Shaler vulcanizing kits and headlight lenses were popular with Model T Ford owners of the era.
I look forward to your reply. I may be reached by telephone at (262)629-9734.
Sincerely,
James Rodell, Jr.
