Dalton Appliance Co. - Dalton TV & Radio Store
Property at 17 N. Madison St., Waupun, Wis. was purchased by Walter H. Dalton and Hazel Dalton from Stanley Johnson in 1940. This consisted of two small wooden buildings, one previously used by Glendon Hash as Justice of the Peace and Insurance office. The smaller building was used as the Hess shoe repair shop.
A line of Crosley refrigerators, stoves, radios, washers, freezers and mangles was featured. Milking machines and Coleman oil burners were added and a walkway was installed between the two buildings. Later records were added beginning with 78 rpm and then 33 1/3 & 45 rpm.
Mr. Dalton attended Milwaukee School of Engineering courses in radio and refrigeration.
A new modern brick-front building was constructed in 1950. With the advent of TV, the Zenith line of black and white TVs and Stereos, tapes and tape players was added and refrigerators, stoves and washers were discontinued. Mr. Dalton died in 1965. The business and building were sold to Nick and Judy Kuzulka in 1972.Acquisition
