HISTORY OF E & E SALES
OWNERS: Edward and Ellen Kant
E & E Sales had a modest beginning in the garage of the Kant home at 201 Young Street. The only products for sale were peas, corn, and green beans in family size cans. Eddie, Ellen, their two daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren made up the work force which sorted, labeled, and sold these canned goods.
E & E Sales has grown rapidly since 1970. The business is now spread out into three large warehouses and employs thirteen workers. The store is open Friday and Saturday for retail sales. During the week, Eddie and Ellen handle the institutional and wholesale orders from customers in Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Wisconsin. Merchandise now comes into the store by semi truck loads from almost every state. Two custom built insulated trailers pull loads within the state. Some of the merchandise is first quality and some is slightly dented and classified as salvage. E & E Sales now carries a complete line of canned foods in all sizes--vegetables, fruits, jellies, pickles--as well as bakery, paper products, and household and gift items.
