Historical information on Godshall Pharmacy for 1976 Bicentennial Celebration in Waupun, WI *NOTE: Spelling errors are left just as originally typed and hand written. Godshall Pharmacy Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Godshall (Dutch and Dorothy) have been in the pharmacy business for many years. Mr. Godshall, affectionately known as "Dutch" was graduated in 1949 from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation he came to Waupun to work for the late Clem Powers for a year. He then bought the business of Louis Olson in the Corner Drug Store. At that time, Mrs. Godshall, who is a registered nurse, worked at Waupun Memorial Hospital. In May of 1964 Dutch sold out at the Corner Drug to be employed as druggist at the Wisconsin State Prison. In April of 1966, the Godshalls bought the Joseph Ferske Pharmacy at 310 E. Main where they remained until September of 1973 when they moved into their newly remodeled Pharmacy at 316 E. Main Street, the former Blow Tru Value Hardware Store. The Godshalls had purchased the building and extensively remodeled it. Dutch and Dorothy have a son David, daughter Mary Pat, both of whom are registered pharmicists, having studied at Madison and interned at their fathers store. Mary Pat's husband John Bahlman, is also a registered pharmicist. The store has an expanded gift line which includes Delft hand painted items and Lefton porcelain ware. It also has the only "soda fountain" in the city and offers a wide variety of sundaes, sodas and coffee for the break in the day of local workers and shoppers. Godshall bought the pharmacy from J. R. Fenske in 1966. Mr. Fenske bought it from Mr. and Mrs. Albert Heuers, who had operated it since October 1952, when they purchased it from C1em Powers. Mr. Powers had operated it since September 1941. Mr. & Mrs. Godshall passed away in 1977 and their son, David Godshall now operates the pharmacy.
