Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church
Grace Ev. Luth. Church had it's beginning in Waupun in Jan.1966 when 16 people met in a private home for their first worship service.
Services were continued and as the congregation grew, services moved to the V. F. W. Club house. During the summer, Pastor R. Roth of Beaver Dam began serving the group. This permitted morning services and Sun. School.
In Sept. 1966, the cong. formally organized. A constitution was adopted and officers were elected. The church was officially called Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. The steady growth of the congregation encouraged the members to purchase land in 1967 and on Sept. 2l, 1967, ground breaking for a house of worship took place. The home of worship located on County Park Road, was dedicated to the Lord on June 14, 1970, at that time numbering 133 souls.
Charter communicant members of the cong. are: Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Buss, Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Daniels, Richard Daniels, Mr. & Mrs. Norman Floeter, Mr. & Mrs. Ron Gedamke, Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Graf, Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Jensen, Mr. Rolan Klug, Mr. & Mrs. Dick Lamers, Mr. & Mrs. Alton Loomans, Mrs. Mary Petersen.
On Nov. 12, 1969, Pastor K. H. Gawrisch was installed as the churches first permanent pastor. In 1970, a parsonage was constructed on the church property and dedicated.
The church has continued to grow under the Lord's guidance. We now number 225 souls. Active organizations are, Ladies Guild, Altor Society, Young People's Society, Senior Choir, and Girls & Boys Pioneers.
Pastor Paul Zittlow is the present pastor. Services are held every Sun. At 9:15 a.m., Sun. School 10:30 a.m. The church is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Luth. Synod.
