SUBJECT: Regards to the Bicentennial
On July 23, 1965, we, Mr. and Mrs. James Hopp leased the business and building known as "The Sunset Dairy Bar" which was located at 17 Fond Du Lac, Street, from it's owner, Marvin Opperman, and it became Hopp's Restaurant. Some time later, we bought the building and contents and with the help of our five children and good employees, our business increased steadily so that we needed more room to prepare the food and our specialty--pizzas.
We sold the building to Dr. P. Egan, and leased a section of the building formerly know as "The Gateway Lumber Co." and presently owned by Nummerdor Bros. After re-modeling it to suit our needs, we moved to 5 West Main Street, and on June 26, 1969, we had open house with free coffee, donuts and cookies, and continued to our present and very satisfying business, where we are constantly meeting our old friends and making new ones. We truly enjoy every aspect of the restaurant business. On July 23, 1975, we celebrated ten years of serving the public.
