Jeff's Trucking Service
A group of local people bought the Bird Trucking Company of Kewaskum and moved the operations to Waupun in March 1956. Heading the Company was Wilbert Jeffords, president, with Roy Reabe, vice president and William McRobert as secretary-treasurer.
The office was established at 435½ E. Main.
Bird Trucking had twenty units with a franchise to haul to Chicago, but not to Milwaukee and hauled mainly canned goods and groceries.
Today the office is located on South Madison Street and the warehouse is on Grove Street, one block east of South Watertown Street.
In March 1960, a major portion of the Waupun Dray Line was purchased by Ray Jeffords and William McRobert from the Larry Hinchaw estate. This sale included the local feed distribution of Moorman's warehouse and has been operated as the Waupun Truck Service. Six trucks were included in the transaction.
Mr. Jeffords continued operating the star mail routes, milk hauling, local and long distance moving, and the trucking for the Huth James Shoe, Inc. As the Waupun Dray Line. Ten trucks handled this hauling.Acquisition
