Historical information on Schultz Brothers for 1976 Bicentennial Celebration in Waupun, WI. *Facts are typed and was scanned with mistakes, if any, left uncorrected. Schultz Brothers Schultz Brothers came to Waupun in 1918, and was located on the South side of Main Street. Fifteen years later it moved to 412 E. Main where it stayed until August 1961 when it moved to 401 E. Main after Gysbers moved out to Waupun West. The new store was completely remodeled and had twice the floor space of the old one. At the present time Schultz Brothers had sixty-four stores in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. The entire company was begun seventy-five years ago. The first manager of the Waupun store became the treasurer and general manager of the Company. The chain bought out the Watson Variety store when it started in Waupun in 1918. John Stoffel bought the building in 1974 and Schultz Brothers sold out their business in 1975 and moved the rest of merchandise to other stores in the area. Darryl Pike was the first manager in the new store and Jean Zabel was the last one.
